I knew there was a sequence to spin up a commercial jet engine - but the process to start one on a newer twin-jet like a 777/787 or A350 is more automated or does the FO has to move the start switch into AUTO and monitor the EICAS/EICAM for anything abnormal?

I've never seen an engine torch. One day when I fly international on a plane that's been sitting for a while.
