How to remove road striping paint?

My first call would be to the County that did the work or contracted out the work. Was this overspray as you drove by, or did you splash through new stripes when you drove by (perhaps not heeding safety cones or the like)? If it is their liability, they should make it right but be careful with what they want to do - my nearly new car decades ago was a victim of apartment painting overspray. The company paid for folks to take their cars to body shops where most used aggressive compounds etc. to remove the overspray. I bought a couple kits of Meguiars detailing clay and did the job myself, thereby avoiding any unnecessary clear coat removal. They ended up paying for my supplies and although not happy I had to spend hours doing the entire car, windows, alloy wheels, etc. etc., I was glad the clay removed every speck of the paint. Good luck and post back what happens.
