The forecast called for rain starting late morning, so we thought we'd stick close to Walker. We took the short and hilly Shingobee Connection Trail south to the Paul Bunyan Trail intersection, and then took the Paul Bunyan NW to where it joins the Hearland/PB shared portion. This section is not on reclaimed rail bed, and is extremely steep in places. It was a blast, but I was glad we'd finished the steep bits before the rain started. Then we took the flat PB/Heartland shared section back to Walker in the rain. This was another short (37 km) but very intense and excellent ride. I forgot my camera, so these shots are off my wife's smartphone, taken with a wet lens in the drizzle. Sorry about the poor quality!
