I installed them in Grote tail lights

The existing incandescents were not bright enough and the Zevos were worse because there were no reflectors in the Grote lamps. Most of the output of the Zevos were lost because the leds face backwards. I lined the interior of the lamps with sticky aluminium foil tape and that made the lamps acceptably bright, as seen in the second picture.
The Zevos are bright, it is just that the light is emitted in a backward direction.
I could have used chrome paint instead of the aluminium foil. If I had to do it again I would just replace the entire lamp with this one

It has been a few months and the foil tape has held up so far.
