Kookaburra

Been trying to get a video of them singing now that the mornings are warming up.

Never have the camera or a phone at the ready, and not much point mid song.

This one was sitting on a branch this morning, looking for lizards or frogs to catch (or small snakes...if thye catch snakes or lizards, they often whip them at rocks and posts to kill/stun them before eating).

These are hilarious birds and the sound is infectious like a laugh. (but I can imagine it's annoying if they sit in your backyard making noise all day)

There are some small local populations here, but never seen one locally.
