Red Line 5W-20, Particles - Butler Lab

2005 Mayback 57 delivered March 25th, 2005 with 175 miles on the odometer. I took a sample after driving 15 miles home from work with 400 miles on the clock. The car comes with a twin turbo 5.5 Liter V12. It has 550 BHP and 660 Ft Lbs torque but I put in a Renntech chipset that they tell me gives another 120 torque. The stock 6,100 pound car (one I borrowed with 4,000 miles on the clock ) did a 0 - 60 hop in 4.95 seconds. I did a quick 0-60 with 200 miles on this car at 4.80 seconds. I will break it in some more and try again later. Right now no problem burning rubber with limited slip differential. Driving: spirited around town, some highway driving.

The OEM is supposed to be Shell Helix Ultra. I do not have a VOA and I do not think it would have so much Moly in there. Terry said it is mostly from assembly of the engine parts.

Don't you mean Maybach 57? Is there a reason you only ran it for 2500 miles?

Yes, Maybach 57, sorry. I took a sample of the Red Line oil at 2,500 miles. I did not change the oil, it is still in there. I may get another sample when I do change it at maybe 5 or 6,000 miles on the oil.

Did the Zinc really go from 1466 to 304 on the Redline in 2500 miles?
Maybe it said 1304 and there was a typo?

Also, I just sent off another sample of the same Red Line oil now with 5,000 miles on the clock. The total car milage is now 6,700.
