I hope someone can tell me if evap code P0440 will reset without clearing all the OBDII ready codes first? My vapor canister vent valve/solenoid had a broken wire at the connector so wasn't getting power, this threw a "service engine soon light" of course. I would really like to avoid the complete drive cycle ritual if possible. The vehicle is a 1999 Isuzu Hombre (same as a Chevy S-10), 2.2, 5-speed, RWD, Pickup. I can reset the computer if I have to but it takes looong time with a lot of driving to get everything ready to test the evap part.
Will code P0440 reset after problem fixed??

Yes, the computer will eventually turn the light off and erase the code if the issue has been corrected.
If you leave it alone, when the light goes out you'll say "aaaaah".
If you clear the code, you'll be obsessively checking your scan tool to see if the I/Ms clicked in yet.
Keep the tank between 1/4 and 3/4, that does more to help it than anything else.

WOW, that was fast! One cold start and one lukewarm start for a total of 10 miles and the light is OFF! YESSSSSS!!!!
