This question has a three-part answer:

This new synthetic base oil, when blended-in with lower viscosity base oils, can provide a 5W30 engine oil formulation with an HTHS of [email protected]

This fluid has a VI of 190, an EHL film thickness of 240 [email protected]@0.52 GPa, and a Pour Point of -33C.

1. What is the specific base oil type?

2. What is the viscosity at 40C?

3. What is the Commercial name of this product?

You have two out of three correct so far.

It is a Group IV.

You gotta mix them to make a base and put some additives, too.

Ohle, from the "Land of the Palms" was closer to the answer.

It is SpectraSyn Elite™ 300:

[email protected] [email protected] -27F PP and 547F FP.

One application is its use (in small percentages) to formulate a low viscosity lubricant to provide increased hydrodynamic films at elevated operating temperatures.

Due to the cost of the Piston Cup Pin and the state of the economy, we cannot, at this time, offer the Piston Cup Pin but will monitor the economy and if things improve, once again offer this coveted treasure. grin2
