Need a good battery charger

Heres an example of what we have in the shop-

4 Group 31's, a few Group 27's and 24's on the bottom is a specialty AGM scuba propulsory battery

I prefer chargers that require no button pushing that autodetect size and chemistry-

You can see 2 optimate 6's on group 31's -these are taking about 3 amps each.

The yellow charger granite labs 50 watt save a battery Im still forming an opinion on- lots of hype but I can say for sure its not as versatile as the Optimate as it wont fully charge the scuba battery.

Hello all. Just wanted to let you know that I ended up getting a Pro-Logix PL2320 battery charger. Got a good deal on Amazon with a 17% price drop just a few days after adding it to my wish list along with alot of other suggestions provided here. Thanks for all the great advice. I'll let you know if there any problems.

I ended up getting a NOCO Genius 3500 3.5 amp automatic charger that is weather proof and comes with a quick connect/disconnect and a waterproof cover for the ends when not in use. (Got a really good deal through a friend of mine)

Uncle Dave, thank you for the updates on the subject.

I have 3 CTEKs, and my fave is the older one, with a separate 'Supply' function - comes in very handy when swapping things around. All my cars are on chargers once in the garage, an old habit.

A smart habit that pays dividends I'm sure.

I like my ctek product - and the supply function is great and I use it on my Lexus at battery change time or I have to reindex all the windows and sunroof and its a real pain.

For the 20 amp and up units Id have to pick the CTEK over the prologix simply because the CTEK has a real temp gauge in the positive clamp and the prologue is an ambient unit.

My CTEK 7002 pressed into servitude right now in my wife grooming van as we are having inverter problems and its got 2 more amps than the optimate.

notably - The 7002 has taken a beating being dragged along by the wife once and having fallen from waist high shelves multiple time and is still working.

Not to throw a wrench into your plans, it's probably fine, but some of us are still trying to figure out this charger's behavior...

I have 2 issues with Noco.

1. Meaningless claims like " Charges 2X faster than most marine battery chargers." - really?

Take 2 chargers of the same amperage on say a 48 volt 200 AH bank and this one will charge twice as fast?
Just exactly how is that? They dont tell you , or give any examples.
OR do they really mean their 10 amp charger charges faster than some other guys 5 amp charger?

Its kind of like purolaters "99% cleaning power" claim

2. Made in China -non repairable
Little chargers aren't worth repairing, but something that 4-500 dollars should be - like their 4 bank 40 Amp charger.
Delta Volt sells a reparable product in this price range.

I'll go based on the score of reviews on the internet and the fact that I got it for a stellar deal through a friend.
