Incorrect things a shop has told you

More of an upsell story, but was still incorrect.

Took wife's Rav4 to Sears Auto to get an alignment ($50 groupon deal) after I replaced the leaky shocks and struts.

Got the free vehicle inspection for the heck of it. Provided a useful print out of battery test.

Halfway into alignment, service writer comes to me all shocked and awed, said coolant needs to be changed ASAP. It shouldn't be pink in color.

For sh!ts and giggles, I played along. Asked what was wrong. Will my car blow up. What color it should be. Asked to see replacement coolant (green). What happens if I don't. Could I reschedule. Got him to spill for a good 30 mins, after which I said quit blowing smoke.

Safe to say, I had time to burn that Saturday morning.

Went back to Sears again about 2 mo's later for my 4Runner (had just installed Bilstein 5100's + FJ springs) to use same groupon alignment deal.

Gave him my keys, left 45 mins later. Not a word exchanged.
