Its a horrible death...one of the worst ways to die.

I strongly urge NONE of you to search YouTube videos of patients in India that have succombed to the disease.

There was an episode of the TV show Infested! about bats.

Specifically this episode:

In Kentucky, a young family move into a new home only to discover that it is overrun by a protected species of bat that cannot be disturbed.

Many years ago my friend and I tried to help his neighbor who had a bat in her house . We tried to catch it in a blanket and that thing was not getting caught ! I remember it resting in the stairwell on a wall . I think she eventually called animal control but never heard how it turned out.

No big deal. I worked at Carlsbad Caverns NP in the summers as a seasonal park guide and enjoyed giving the bat flight talk at the natural entrance amphitheater as sunset. We did have several memorable moments.

Was in a big spectacular cave complex in Okinawa yesterday and a sign at the entrance said DANGER OF INTERNAL ORGAN DISEASE. But theyd a;ready got my entrance money by then. There were a few bats, and I rather wished I:d worn my boots instead of flipflops.

24 hrs and counting

No sumptoms yet. Might try wearing a cape and seeing if Ive become fatally fascinating to women later.
