engine oil for VW 1.8tfsi (0w30, API SN, ACEA A3 v C3) and these two are taken into account.
I know that shell is vw504 and ravenol vw502 but I keep 15000 km intervals so you can use any of them.
Looking at the voa, I have a question: will Bor compensate lower levels of Zinc and Phosphor ?

You'll have to forgive me as my Cyrillic isn't great...

I've been using this oil in my Saab 9-5 turbo for the last year, but have had to shorten OCI to 7,500kms. The Saab 2.3T uses about 1 litre every 6-7,000kms, so it makes sense to swap the whole lot out.

The only effect I've noticed since I've had 4 sumps of that oil though my car is that oil consumption has been reduced (I'm guessing better ring seal through de-gunking.) Ant my fuel economy has improved ~10%. It's one of a few 0W30 oils with a HTHS of >3.5. Not to mention it's +200 viscosity index.Inspections of the cams and lifters have show no additional wear or scuffing since I've owned the car and been using that oil.

Boron additives fall under the calls of EP and AW additives, and work by producing a hard 'borate film.' They also have detergency and anti acid properties. Shell have decided to go this way vs Moly, for whatever reason in this particular blend.

Regards
Jordan
