Viscosity measurements can be made by a number of different methods and instruments.

Here, we use one of the older methods, the Vertical "Falling Ball" viscosimeter.

This instrument explores the effects of gravity, and the hydrodynamics of buoyancy, fluid drag, and Reynolds Numbers.

This exercise is open to all, but let's let our newer members have the first "crack" at it.

I thought you were going to ask us to derive the equation. That might be a little harder than plugging in numbers.

This is part of the series of QOTD's dealing with viscosity and viscosity measurements.

No derivation since this has already been done.

Just solve for viscosity using the data given.
 
I almost forgot about this little exercise, waiting for more responses.

Garak had the correct answer as the Absolute Viscosity is 0.0088 kg/m.s. or 0.088 kg/cm.s

Congrats go to Garak.


If anyone would like to convert this to Kinematic Viscosity in cSt you would get extra credit and a extra dip of ice cream of your choice.
