New finding in Europe: "Mobil 1 Peak Life 5W-50" is now "Mobil 1 FS X1 5W-50".

Specifications for the new Mobil 1 FS X1 5W-50:
- Meets requirements: ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4; API SN/SM
- Approved: MB-Approval 229.3/229.1; Porsche A40
- Viscosity @ 40C = 101
- Flash Point = 239C
- Pour Point = -45C
- Density @15C = 0.85

I can’t find any other specifications from the internet for the new oil, so all the most interesting parameters (Viscosity index, HTHS, MRV etc.) are currently missing.

One interesting detail is that FS X1 is advertised for higher mileage vehicles: "Mobil 1 FS x1 5W-50 is recommended for many types of vehicles with higher mileage; > 100 000 km". This wasn't the case with Peak Life.

- Sulfated Ash = 1.3
- Phosphorous = 0.1
- Flash Point = 231C

So, why the change? And is it good or bad... or doesn’t matter?

After c. 10 years of hard work to build a reputation, a brand can trade on its image for the next 30 years.

Over here, we already have M1 FS X2 5w-50, and it has HT/HS of 4.4 cP and MRV of 24,800.

Of their high NOACK levels. It's telling that it doesn't have some other certifications that require a less than 10% NOACK.

If you are alluding to MB 229.5, I dont believe Xw-50 grades can get it, regardless of Noack level.

Here’s a close-up picture of the FS X1 marking. It's been put to the label with really small letters. It's almost like they wouldn't want you to notice it. Is it similar with the X2 version?

But question still remains open. Why EXXON Mobil is hiding full specification of new oil for Europe:

Mobil1 FS X1 5w50.

Is it so bad comparing to old Mobil1 Peak Life 5w50 or to X2 5w50 US version? I don't think so but I want to be shure before I will buy it.

I called Exxon in Europe and talked with three persons/engineers....
They do not know why they are selling this oil in Europe without showing its basic parameters.
Unfortunately at this moment they chcecked available internal info about it and nobody knows parameters of this oil. But they are shure it is good .... probably

Funny, isn't it?

According to EU law they probably shouldn't sell it without available full specification for customers.

EXXON wake up!!!!!

If you don't mind resurrecting an old thread, there are what look like VOAs of M1 5W50 FS X1 (the last two, the first one seems to be the older Rally Formula) in this german website: https://oil-club.de/index.php?thread/2097-mobil-1-fs-x1-5w-50/

After clicking on the link and it takes you to the page of oil report-just click on the report itself as opposed to the title. The report will enlarge so you can read if-if using smart phone-if you click on the title it makes you open it in pdf or on I books.
