Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

2007 Subaru Outback 2.5L NA 207,000 miles. Oil changes mostly conv. or semi-synth from several shops. 5-7k OCI's. My mothers car, I do the oil changes and maintenance myself now though. One owner. Piston slap is real bad now when starting, especially in the winter, I can hear it rattling through the neighborhood well after it's left the driveway. Been run below the dipstick many times, my family does not believe checking oil is important no matter what I say.

The Subaru in my signature had piston slap from the time it was new. I'd never heard of that phrase until I questioned the noise, and the dealer told me what it was. He said "they all do it," or something to that effect.

My M6 sits at 172k+ miles currently; no leak nor use of engine oil to this day, the same goes for transmission;. 2nd owner since 49k miles on the odometer

I'm running oil changes every 3k religiously with any conventional oil... needless to say, it runs like a champ as I write

170k in my 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6. ~10k OCI's with at least one redline every day and extended distances covered at high speeds (100+mph) on toll roads in Texas heat with A/C blasting. It doesn't get babied. Consumes zero oil on the dipstick. Using 5w20.

1993 Chevy S10 2.8L

steady diet of PYB & GTX at 3k intervals over the years

At 200,000 switched over to GTX HM.

Currently in the middle of 203k

2002 Ford Ranger 4x4. 4.0 sohc V6 (The engine and year with the Chronic timing chain issues)now at 180,000 trouble free miles here. one thermostat housing change, thats it. Could it be the out of spec (Ford says 5W-30) Service Pro 15W-40 oil iv'e always used in her?

2000 Toyota Camry 2.2L, 227k miles. Has been sitting for 5-1/2 months because I bought my Sonata. Don't know what to do with it, it's still a great car. Have had since 194k, started synthetic at 205k. No leaks.

I wouldn't hesitate to go get in it right now and drive it to NYC without popping the hood to check anything.

330k miles 04 Grand Marquis, engine run smooth and quite but consume around 1 qt of oil in 1500 miles (some oil is leaking from valve gaskets) and pings in severe hot weather under load, used Motorcraft semi synthetic oil different viscosities but recently have to get thicker oil to decrease oil loss (consume much more oil with full synthetic), follow 5k miles OCI.

2005 Accord V6 with 171k miles. Regular oil changes. Never let it go low. Does not consume oil either. Engine performs like new.

Ford didn't use the Triton modular engines (4.6L and 5.4L) in their trucks until 1997. Johnpawl's 1995 F-150 will either have the 300 straight-six (4.9L), 302 (5.0L), or 351 (5.8L).

1996 Camry V6, 334,000 miles. Original engine. OCI: 6,000 miles. Mobil 1 5W-40 TDT. Oil usage between changes is zero. Still drive long road trips two or three times yearly at 70 to 80 MPH for hundreds of miles. Car purchased new and never any mechanical problems on engine or transmission. Timing belt replaced every 80K & water pumps 160K.
