Home-made pump saver for pressure washer

The "pump saver" is highly recommended by mfgs to protect pressure washer pumps against corrosion, byt at $7 a can and 7-8 uses per can, it ads up quick.

What's your "homebrew" pressure washer pump saver?

I'm considering mixing 80/20 RV antifreeze (non-toxic, $2/gal) and canola oil (free because expired).
 
Sounds like more work than what it is worth? You don't need to use pump saver everytime. I only use when not using for a long time and before winter. One bottle has lasted me a few years.
 
I think it's just ethylene glycol right? The glycol itself has lubricating properties so I don't see why it would be necessary to add oil.

WM Ethylene Glycol 50% Premix Antifreeze whip hose with funnel pull engine over till runs out.

Thanks, so how do you use the home brew? Are there any specific components needed for it?

My plan to ti reload the B&S aerosol pump saver like this:
But I'm open for suggestions.
