10w-30 Dexos oil OK in v6 Impala Limited?

Indeed, there is no dexos 10w30, but that is just because GM decided that 10w30 would not qualify. But there are many 10w30 oils that would easily meet the the conditions that dexos is expected to meet. Just my opinion, some 10w30 oils would more than exceed the dexos spec. A lot of 10w30 oils with some very stout add packs out there and also NOACK levels that are way below the dexos maximum. And no dealer could tell the difference between a 5w30 and a 10w30 anyway.

As a side note, though was before dexos came on the scene, my 2006 Cadillac CTS called for M1 5w30, but it has gotten a conventional 10w30 for quite a while and still is a great running car that we are keeping for a lot longer. Car still in great shape and engine is in tip top shape. No reason to get rid of it.
