Lots of good suggestions, and I'll add a few lubes I've used.

M1 20w50
M1 5w20
Kano Microil
Liquid Wrench Lubricating Oil
Boeshield T9
Fluid Film, both aerosol and bulk
Silicone Spray
Liquid Wrench Chain and Cable Lube
And, of course, WD-40

Can't say any stuck out as a BAD choice, though each has a niche. Gradual experimentation and attention to detail with yield the proper oil for the proper job eventually. I will say that my go-to general purpose oil has become M1 ATF. Just seems to work well for "stuff."

Liquid Wrench Lubricating oil does great for squeaks and sticky hinges and anything else that needs a light oil. Has some of the liquid Teflon stuff in it
