Someone once posted about a replacement/refill weed eater line .060 and thicker sizes that was octagonal shaped in the cross section so the edges gave it really great cutting power. Can this be found on retail shelves or is it only available online?

I can't remember the size now, but I used wire like that 16 years ago. It was orange in colour, and I'ml thinking it was Husqvarna branded.

I used a RedMax trimmer and the wire melted together on the spool which was a pain. Im not sure if that was due to the wire or the Trimmer running unusually hot, but other wire didn't produce this issue.

Echo branded line is similar and cuts really well.

I picked up an eight-sided .095 trimmer line from Lowes today for my Stihl. It was made by Shakespeare and cost about $3.50 for forty feet. Not the most price efficient but definitely the most economical for my needs out the door. It is the orange colored one in their 'good' line.
