I want to get a decent Bluetooth adapter and app for my phone to do on board diagnostics. I know of Alfa obd apparently it's pretty good but I need a obd connector for it. Also want a decent general app for any car I decide to use it on. Let me know what you think. Thank you everyone .

Consider the OBDLink product line. Especially the MX WiFi (I tried the MX Bluetooth too) if you want top notch piece of hardware. The Bluetooth version isn't compatible on iOS devices.

I used the torque app (on android), and was impressed by all of the available live data. Just pick your OBD dongle carefully, the one I went with was incompatible with GM vehicles, which wasn't made clear with their "compatible with a majority of OBDII vehicles, which was 2 out of 3 of the cars I wanted to use it for.
OBDLink MX (Bluetooth or WiFi) is explicitly compatible with Ford & GM
