I imagine the F-16 has to be some kind of wicked fun to fly too.

Yes that is a maintenance-induced failure, and to make it worse it was shown that for some inspections they did not reduce the overall frequency of failure. This was something that MSG-1 through MSG-3 all addressed, trying to formulate indicators of impending failure that actually worked.
