Fram CA5057 air filter discontinued?

I've always been a fan of the frame air filters.. I own a 1988 Ford Thunderbird and on my recent trip to Walmart to pick one up I noticed they are no longer on the shelf. I went to their website and bought them out on clearance, they had 6 left. I emailed Fram but was curious if anyone knew anything, other websites are either not in stock or available in store and not online.

Walmart seems to be cutting on in-store inventory of air filters. This doesn't necessarily mean that Fram is discontinuing them

After I bought them up they disappeared on their website entirely. I was just curious.

Stores like Wal Mart, Advance Auto and Auto Zone only stock the fastest moving numbers. There are many filters that are still made that that they just don't stock. NAPA/Wix is always a good bet for those filters that aren't available at the local super stores. If they don't have it, they can usually get one the next day.

I feel your pain getting things for my 87 Cougar but I can't expect a company to continue making parts for 30 year old vehicles where there is virtually no demand anymore.
