hey i have a 2016 Mitsubishi lancer 1.6L as you can see in the pic the owner manual says choose engine oil according to atmospheric temperature.
the temperature where i live is between 18-35 Celsius ( 63-97 fahrenheit )

the oil station told me to use 10w40.

the dealer says 20w50

i dont know what viscosity to choose . thank you so much

If you only see temperatures between 63 and 97 Fahrenheit I personally choose the 20w40/20w50 or 15w40/15w50

It seems like just about anything would be "suitable" for your climate so no wrong choices...

I would run a 5W-30, 10W-30 or 5W-40 without a bit of worry. A 5W-20 might give you a slight fuel savings.

The oil Mitsi NZ use is 5W-30, A3/B4, supplied by Castrol and most likely Edge. Check your service manual, it will say MSL.

I'd run any syn 30 grade for regular use of any 40 grade if you drive it like you stole it. 0w20 works great in 115°f heat where I live, no need for 20w50 in econo boxes in moderate temps.

Go with what the dealer said...20w50.
According the the viscosity chart and your temperature you would have no problem.
For my car, i have a similar chart and 20w50 all the time(because of my warm climate 25 to 35 degrees Celsius)

Here, they'd say to use a 0W-20 under all conditions.
Were I you, I'd use a 10W-30 under all conditions.
Don't need anything thicker with this low-po engine in the climate you have.

I would go with a quality 0-20. Your engine won't be so sluggish, easier on the starter, oil flows faster to the upper end, especially in cold temps.
