hi all, this is a Mann HU712/8 cartridge filter, its done around 2500-3000 miles in a 2003 Vauxhall corsa 1.2 16v easytronic petrol. oil used was eurocarparts home brand tripleqx 5w40 fully synthetic. I used STP flush too this time.

held up well but I don't think the oil itself does a good job of cleaning things up.

Was the engine visibly sludged? Filter has no evidence of solid debris that I can see. I'd forego the STP flush and just go for longer OCIs on the synthetic. If it was sludged, that will clean it up in time - no hurry as long as it runs well.

It's a common cartridge filter endcap design used by Mann.

not sludged but had a lot of lifter tick. engine is proper quiet now. its like a whole new car.
