Crossland FD 2416031 30 minutes use

hi all, got a Crossland FD 2416031 cartridge filter here for a 2003 Vauxhall corsa 1.2 16v petrol. I used it for 30 mins with carlube sae20 flushing oil.
held up fine Id say. lol

replaced with a Mann filter and shell helix ultra 5w40

Good thing you only ran it 30 minutes..... looks like it would've grenaded if you pushed it out to 60 mins

lol felt bad about ditching it since it still looked like new.
atleast it tells me that the engine is now clean.

Slybunda - Agreed. That is a pretty filter. But, if the engine has any varnish type deposits, it would take much more time to clean than 1 hour. A solvent would likely be needed as well. Something to think about. What you don't see is any carbon deposits. And, that is good.
 
Oddly this filter has an extra bypass valve on top that springs up when pushed down. The mann filter i posted earlier doesnt have one and is just an open hole on it relying on the bypass rod thing thats in the filter housing.
