Using 0w20 what is the difference between the two oils. I was thinking about trying one in the short tripper outback 2.5i.

Well the current fill. penzoil platinum, has maybe 3000 miles and has been in since December. I usually change every 6-7 months.

You're in Wisconsin, I'd save the 0W-20 synthetic for late this year to change before it gets really cold. Just run a cheap conventional through the summer.

I still have the factory 60k warranty. I was curious about the difference between the two oils for Wisconsin climate. I think I read, possibly on here, the Magetec oil was on the thicker side of 0w20?

Edge is 8.668 cst@100 and Magnatec is 8.9, so Magnatec is "thicker" (or more accurately, "higher viscosity")...

Maybe slightly. I live in a colder climate and when it is -30F, a thin oil really helps. But even the magnatec is thin enough with a pour point of -39.

The HTHS will be so close between the two it won't matter in the slightest.
