I have 6 years and 38K miles on my current filter and its restriction is between 8" and 11".
I don't know what the restriction would be with a new filter, I added the gauge when the filter had ~20K; and the restriction was 8".

Yes, they work on any size engine. It reads the restriction, thats all they do. If you have a restriction with a new air filter then I'd try to find where its coming from. On my S2000 I found that the stock opening was to small from the factory.
