Storing oil for UOA before receiving test kit?

I need to change my oil before the test kit will arrive. Is it possible to store the oil in a way that ensures no contamination until the kit arrives?

Yeah, any clean dry sealable container will do. If say, you had old oil sitting for a long time,
months, etc, then I'd shake it up and pour into the Lab bottle to get a true test with no settling.

I've gotten believable test results on used oil sitting for a year before it was sent out.

Yep anything clean and dry that can hold it should be fine, I would imagine cheap Tupperware would be a good choice if you're buying something new but you could re purpose a plastic container from the kitchen too, like the margarine tub or similar.

+1 - easy and wide mouth - just don't drop it when you take the sample - that's when something plastic comes in handy.
