Hi guys,

I recently took out the intake manifold on a V6 motor including the Y section.

The heads have been ported and polished and the intake runners match ported to them.

Anyway, it turns out that the gaskets the are between the heads and the Y section are a tiny bit too small and when everything is in I can feel it with my finger that it protrudes but about a third of a milliliter (guessing here by feel.

What are my options?
Can I grind away the gaskets a bit?
Can I run the engine without those gaskets and use some form in place gasket instead?

Engine is a Mitsubishi 6A12 MIVEC

In a Mad Max situation, if you broke into an auto parts store and found some Permatex Anaerobic Gasket Maker, it would probably save the day.

The gasket should have been ported to match. Talk to the porting company, they may have oversize gaskets or advice on how to trim.
