When maintenance skyrockets, bail and buy new?

I have a 18 years old single stage RED car. It goes pink after polish in 2 months. Interior seat material is faded too.

You are absolutely correct. The German cars do not do well here in the brutal South Florida sun and heat. The heating and cooling systems have sealing foam that deteriorates into black goo, then blows out on to clean clothes. It's then impossible to clean out the goo.

Same goes for the plastic parts on the dash and the doors. They turn into goo in 3 years time around here. YUK.

I THINK mine was probably red too. Don't know what it would do if polished.

Haha, red are the worst, it does clear fairly easy, but it also go away just as fast. I can do all in a 2 hours and car looks as new. For a few weeks.
