WD-40 Launches Grease Line
For the first time in company history, WD-40 is adding greases to its product slate with its WD-40 Specialist Greases for automotive, agricultural, marine and construction equipment. The greases are interchangeable to prevent cross-contamination that may compromise performance, the company says, while protecting against corrosion, high temperatures and extreme conditions. The product line includes a multipurpose grease, two greases for improved load-carrying ability in heavy-duty trucks and a marine grade grease to protect trailer wheel bearings, trailer chassis, water pumps, anchor reels and outboard motors against rust. The products are available in the United States at Home Depot stores. Web: www.wd40specialist.com

Interesting.....

I looked at the tube labeling at our local Menards and my first impression was that it was difficult to distinguish the real differences between the four. It's marketed as if the "True Multipurpose" grease covers ALL of the characteristics of the others (and better), so why not just get that one? Is the extreme pressure one not good in high temps. and the high temp one not good in extreme pressure?

Can anyone find the specifications of these products? Until then, I am not interested.

It reminds me of how the Titebond wood glue products are marketed as good, better, and best. But the "best" one has some attributes that actually make it not as good as the "good" one in some applications. Unless the consumer really digs for information, the labeling is deceiving.
