2017 Focus RS (2.3T), Factory Fill, 2500 miles

Nothing earth shattering here, just thought I'd share results after dumping the factory fill after ~2,500 miles from my Ford Focus RS. Does not look like the factory fill is 5w-50 even though that is what is recommended per the owners manual, which I find interesting..
FF was replaced with Castrol Edge 0W-40 + Ford Motorcraft filter.

Hardly any moly. I wonder what lube type they are using to assemble these engines.
 
Maybe Ford used a thinner oil for factory fill to achieve EPA fuel economy numbers? You have an awesome car btw.

I thought they had to recommend the viscosity used in EPA testing as the primary.
Agree on the car. I've seen a couple around here and think they're gorgeous.
 
I wouldn't be surprised FF is 5W50 as it typically shears in service and thins due to fuel dilution in this application.
