I have a Citroën C5 1.6 HDI FAP (2008)

I thinking to put in my car the Castrol Magnatec Stop Start C2 5w30

What is the difference between PSA 2290 and PSA 2312? I´m looking for Total Ineo First 0w30 too but.... I don´t know if is good for my car.

Thanks

I have the same engine in my Focus albeit with a slightly smaller bore.

I went for Total Quartz 9000 0w30.

It has a TBN of 8.8, SA of 0.9% and a HTHS of 3.6. I don't think you're going to find a better compromise for these engines.

Also due to the design flaws in the in DV6 engine you need to be changing the oil at 6 month or 6,000miles intervals.

See my thread... https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/4350782#Post4350782

You can also use Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5w30 in that Engine.PSA 2290 is a low SAPS DPF Euro 5 Spec introduced in 2009.PSA 2312 relates to Engines using Blue HDI with Selective Catalys Reduction systems.Oils meeting this spec have enhanced cold flow properties,to reduce Hydrodynamic Friction, and an improvement in fuel economy.

Total INEO ECS 5w30 is the actual oil. Which it´s better? Total INEO? Castrol C2?

Total 9000 0w30, has high SA for my FAP.

I think it´s better choose an ACEA C2 oil

Total Quartz Ineo First 0w30 is a low SAPS ACEA C2 oil and is recommended for your application, along with Quartz Ineo ECS 5w30 which is a low SAPS ACEA C2 oil.You can use either oil.

Total Quartz 9000 0w30 has a SA of 0.9% where a C2 oil is 0.8%. Surely this can be considered negligible? Does your DV6 even burn any oil for this to be a concern?

Consider this. Ford and Volvo use the same engine with the same DPF and neither of them recommend a low SAPS oil.

In fact a fair percentage of oils claiming c3 specs are in fact over the 0.8% saps limit, others are just under the limit. I don't think I have numbers about C2 oils because they interested me even less but there's no reason to assume the situation there is any better.

That's out of specs ......
.. however a C3 may have up to 900 ppm Phos though.

yes, they are flirting with the specs to say the least...
