Ran a short OCI on my new to me Lincoln Town Car (had bulk oil from last owner's oil change, unknown brand or weight) of about 2000 miles.

Refilled with Mobil 1 5W30 and on went a Mahle OC705 - made in Mexico strangely enough, can't wait to see the insides of that one.

Not much to see here, a little bit of waviness. All of the louvers were opened nicely, and unlike the last FL-820 that I cut open, I couldn't rip the end caps off!

All in all seems to be a decent filter, but it's the same price as a Wix 51372, and the Wix has a silicone ADBV, so there's better value out there.

Note that I accidentally cut the ADBV with my angle grinder when opening the can.

I have a batch of older LF240 ones and honestly I consider them junk.
Thanks for the pictures. Right now I just use Ultras....

Thank you for the cut and post

Hastings makes quality filters, and their louvers are the best.

If that looks like a quality filter you're very easy to please..

Perhaps the ADBV in the FL820 is a better quality than the Hastings. Silicon VS nitrile.
