That first Boston album came out just as I was getting real serious with my drumming and playing in a bunch of different bands. He was tight, articulate and had class fills. However, I think he got the shaft. Tom Scholz (sp???) had put so much time and energy into creating a really unique guitar sound that they didn't even think twice about the drums. The drum micing and mastering absolutely sucked. Those drums sounded horrible. I think that album would have even been better, it that's even possible, if the drums sounded better. Imagine that first album with the drums sounding like Neil Peart's did on Moving Pictures...aka....the song Tom Sawyer.
