I have two of these EDM Honda tach/hour meters. One on another mower, and other than them being slow to respond to rpm changes, they seem okay. Now I've recently installed one on a new mower and I find the rpm goes up about 300rpm when I engage the blades. Shouldn't it go down?

I don't know in this case since it has two blades. It's a toro time master. Usually mower engines have an aluminum flywheel because the blade is the flywheel.

I always check rpm's on my mowers and readjust them for WOT 3600 rpms with load(blades engaged)I've never seen mine go up with a load, strange.

My only thinking is I zip tied the wire against another wire on the mower. Maybe interfering?

Well I don't know. I guess ill just keep running it the way it is. Has a good amount of power. Lol I suppose I could get one of those rpm testers that you put on the spark plug, but those are like 200 bucks
