10w30 HM?

I have often wondered would a 10w30 high millage synthetic oil hold up better in an engine used for towing a camper in the summer or say a high stress environment over a standard synthetic 10w30?

Too open ended a question. But if you have solid lifters the zinc would help a little.

What zinc? High mileage oils don't appear to have any more zinc than regular oil if both are rated SN.

Some 10w30 HM's have a higher HTHS than the same brand of 0w/5w30

It is an open ended question. Of course, HDEOs are another option, with a lot of the current high mileage oils being SN/GF-5.

It would depend on if the engine "needed"the heavier oil to keep the parts separated. As a blanket statement I would answer yes it will protect better. In real life use ?
