Non convertible Hardtop question.

There is something that I don't get about such hard top cars from the past. Lets take for instance the 1980s nissan laurel or nissan skyline coupe. There is no B pillar in between the front and rear glass. How do the manufacturers prevent water from getting in between to the cabin ? Never owned a hard top before. Hope you guys who have owned one could give some insight.
 
They use the magic of rubber.

True hardtops are pretty rare in North America since the last ones of the late 1960's, as they generally don't meet safety standards for rollover protection. I believe convertibles are exempt, although they too had almost disappeared from the market during the 80's before a comeback in the last two decades.

Maybe the rules are different in Japan (or Malaysia).
 
Thanks Johnny, but I am not concerned about newer cars. I only like cars from the 80s and early 90s. I only want to understand about the gap between windows as i do not see any visible seals from the videos on youtube. I havent seen one (hardtop car) up close either.
