And I was sitting for hours with a brush cleaning the 1/4 inch of gunk from the jeep's manifold. It was just as bad, but not solid, with a consistency of steel resin epoxy. I'll try that next time

Is that intake going to seal after all that heat? Will it need to be resurfaced?

I was wondering the same thing. Seems like a great idea for that thick junk found in intakes from egr-equipped diesels... but is the intake designed for those conditions inside it?
