You do know dorman mainly sells those intakes so they may just be relabeled at a higehr price? Unless you're trying to find a white box one off ebay for cheaper than a dorman. Make sure the quality is the same or you will risk ruining the engines when it hydrolocks or mixes the oil/coolant when the intake warps or gasket fails.

I used the ATP a few times with no problems, the one I did in 2008 is still fine and no coolant in the UOA last sept, over 8 yrs and 60K I would say its decent. Yes I will buy one again if I need it.

Dorman's unit has the reduced EGR stovepipe but no metal sleeve. It only addresses part of the problem.

Yes they do have the metal sleeve- I've installed several.

Dorman's part didn't have the metal sleeve a few years back. They must have changed that.

I used the Ineedparts one back in 2009, IIRC. No issues to report.

I got a Dorman one for my friends Impala, along Dormans aluminum coolant elbows.
The Dorman one had the metal sleeve and I believe that was 4 years ago.
It worked well and lasted until he junked the car over the winter due to rust.

Trav, would you still choose the ATP over the iNeedParts version ?

I haven't tried the others so I cant say if they are as good, better or worse. The ATP have been very good so why mess with with what works, use the aluminum frame GM LIM gaskets and its a done deal permanently.

Thanks Trav. The GM LIM gaskets are no longer available from GM, so I'll probably go with either Fel-Pro or ACDelco. Just as long as they're the aluminum shim reinforced type.

Thanks a lot for that I had no idea they had been discontinued. I will ask at the dealer on Monday and if they are I will order 2 sets to have on hand, the part number for GM is 89017816.

Trav, you are one of my favorite posters; always offering helpful tips. I just took a picture of one of the sets I have on hand; mine are GM/AC Delco part number 89017825...You can type either 89017816 OR 89017825 into an eBay search and get virtually the same results: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=gm+...25&_sacat=0

They sure look like the same part don't they. I used the couple of sets I bought when they first came out with the aluminum frames and have no idea what the original part# is but I know they were made in the USA and had blue GM labeling not AC Delco packaging and were over $70 a set at that time.
I see the 89017816 has China as the COO on Amazon, typo?
I have bought from ZZ and have been more than satisfied with their stuff, no problem whatsoever. Again thanks for bringing this up.
