How to remove oil filter & not get covered in oil

Nope, I loosen it then give it a quick spin and let it drain a bit, then use a shop rag over my hand and take it the rest of the way off. Get a little oil in my hands but not running up my arm. Red shop rags work wonders for a lot of things, I suggest investing in a dozen or so of them.

Reusable oil rags? How do you clean them?
Surely you don't use your clothes washer.
 
I just man up and take the thing off

Then I wipe whatever oil there is off of me and eventually take a shower.

Its a Canadian thing-
Seemed weird to me when I moved there.
Works pretty well actually they come in 2 bag packs and there is less volumetric waste after the product is used up.

Brute force method. Twist it off as fast as I can with a rag, and put it gasket side down in the pan.

Done and over with. Have a rag near by to wipe your hand off.
