FRAM PH30 Cut Open

This filter is off of a 1977 Chevrolet Corvette that I'm helping restore. I have no idea how many miles are on the filter or how the car was treated in the past.

There are orange bits of debris between all the pleats which is a bit unnerving. I'm guessing it's gasket material?

The orange stuff looks like RTV.Restoring a car is two hours of crying for every hour of wrenching.
