Back in the the 80's, Jay was the person to get if you wanted to see the best 1/4 mile performance from any bike. I still remember the ads and articles that featured him like it was yesterday. I was fortunate to have a V65 Sabre at the time, and it was his skill that influenced a lifelong passion in maximum performance for me.

Rest in peace, Mr. Gleason.

When they said Pee Wee and 80's I was thinking of a different guy.

yes
whenever "Cycle World" wanted to set a new 1/4 record
PeeWee was on the seat
be it the gs1000, v-max, ninja, katana, fzr

rarely did they show him with anybody...just on the bike.

only once did i see him in a pic with other guys...he was like a horse jockey in size.
nobody would be able to get the times he did.

RIP master of the 1/4
