Nexens are cheaper. Any opinions?

Yes, but they're smaller.

The Nexens ( 215 50 16 ) will cost me about $400.

Tirerack shows some Dunlops available in that size. Since the pickings are so slim, I agree with the strategy of changing size slightly.

The difference is very minor. I'd also check out the "plus zero" tire options on discount tire and find you a size that is close and more common.
