When I send a TEXT on my cell phone (Androde) I send by clicking on a little sms and arrow symbol. I thought I used to send by clicking a SEND word icon. Did I somehow change something? If I changed something, is this a bad thing or how do I get the SEND back? Thank you.. Ed HAyes

It's probably something that changed with a software update. I've seen both. The "arrow" is supposed to resemble a paper airplane.

If you use Hangouts on an Android, it will use SMS to send a text to someone on an IPhone but normal TCP/IP to send a text to someone who is using Hangouts.

I think your seeing it telling you what method it will use to send a particular text.

What the OP describes is what I see in the stock Messenger app. I actually have Hangouts disabled on my phone. I have seen several updates to Messenger in the short four months I've had the phone so I'm betting the change just came along with an app update.
