I find the Cabin filter concept amusing. My 80s and 90s cars never had cabin filters..... the air came straight off the road.

Anyway last year a Honda dealer changed my Cabin filter without my permission. He showed me the old one to which I responded, "Why did you do that? I never authorized that service," so since the job was already done, the dealer did not charge me.

The filter was not completely blocked, but it was extremely dirty.
Some pieces of leaves.
"Brown" in color.

So because cars didn't have it back in the day, new cars don't need it?

Power steering, seat belts, fuel injection, disc brakes, airbags, cabin filters, oil filters, hydraulic lifters... All useless I suppose.

I like having a cabin air filter. I live in pine pollen country. Activated charcoal is a bonus!
