What is a good grease type for geartrains that are immersed in saltwater on occasion?
Application is a saltware fishing reel. I read that polyurea is fairly water resistant.
I'm looking for a grease type recommendation, not a brand.
Thanks.

I had no idea BITOG is a brick and mortar operation these days. Fascinating....

Went to website and it was hard to sort - myself and others use Mystik JT6 (in saltwater) and just the multipurpose green tube ... not the HT ...it is almost clear so you know when it gets contaminated

Please never login again.

CRC Marine grease. I know you said to not name names but that would do the trick. We have used Litium/Moly in fresh water but salt water can be a completely different beast.

A real PIA to get off your palm after greasing a wheel bearing.

Thanks, that's the one I'll get.
I'm curious be there are other greases marketed as "waterproof" that don't disclose composition, such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045L75M6

Comparaed to all other greases (lithium, polyurea, etc....), is aluminum grease the most "waterproof" grease out there?

I'm not an expert on marine greases, but I found it interesting that the Super Lube grease has 3% wash out listed on the data sheet. I believe that is actually a better rating than some marine greases out there. Just don't quote me on that!

Scroll down to this link: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/milkygrease.htm

Knowledge is somewhere on BITOG server but is not freely visible somehow

super lube is commonly used in sail boat winches. that would probably be a lot like your tackle

Look at Watski boat stores in Sweden or this hunting site: https://www.jakt.se/super-lube-fett-85gram

Lars, Do you know where I can buy this grease in Sweden?
A fend of my lives in Sweden and he want to use it - especially for low temp performance.
For mild-ish climate where I live I use this
