Going from Amsoil/Redline to cheaper Castrol oil?

Normally I would not reply, but I don't want to ignore your direct question, or the other guy asking for "studies" of filters:

- Toyota has built engines that sludged the oil and died as young as 25000 miles and led to a class-action lawsuit (U.S. and multiple States v. Toyota). They also had minivans where the sidedoor could randomly open (leading to a recall).
- I own 3 Hondas so I love the brand, but I recognize they made some major blunders. They make bad auto transmissions, bad VCM engines, bad belt-driven CVTs, and use bad batteries in their hybrids.
- GM was caught in ignition coverups.
- Volkswagen was caught cheating on smog tests.
- So too was Ford about 15 years ago.
- Takata made junk airbags that ejected shrapnel at passengers, and virtually ALL oems used them. Why? Because OEMs are not perfect. Given all those examples, I fundamentally do not trust any corporation.
- IMHO ;-) :) :-D

FILTER STUDIES:

- And one other test I cannot find. The owner may have erased it.

Yes these are OLD tests so if you can provide newer ones, I would love to see them. I try to make the best choices using whatever data I can find (as I do on my engineering job). Data from these multiple sources show OEM filters, like OEM oil, is rarely the best you can buy.

From my experience that of some friends, Red Line is excellent for tough going and 10K changes. We'll see.

Did you get the Redline 0w-30 results back yet? Very curious to see them...
