If you already have Windows 10 installed, don't be surprised when the current activation won't activate because of major hardware changes like disk or motherboard. Some times you have to call them to re-activate, and they want to know what change you made. They already know what changed, so I guess they want to hear that from the user. Over the years, I have had to call once or twice over disk changes, and I think every time when I changed a motherboard. I don't know what methods they use to trigger re-activation, but it does happen.
