What they say is quite true. High pressure subcutaneous injection can occur with very little to see initially. And if the tissue isn't extensively debrided (meaning opened up and thoughly cleaned) severe tissue necrosis can occur. This appears to be more chemical than infective, though infection could occur as well, but likely a bit later.
And that's why you never put a hand/foot/etc in front of a pressure washer nozzle or equivalent.
